Sanjay Kumar Abhay, Gopalganj. RJD is not able to trust any candidate in Gopalganj regarding Lok Sabha elections. Gopalganj Lok Sabha reserved seat is in the account of RJD from the Indian Alliance. RJD is still unable to reach a consensus on the name of the candidate. Gopalganj is the home district of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad. In such a situation, the reputation of the party is at stake here. The party is looking for a candidate who can win the seat under any circumstances.

Discussion is going on in RJD on these names

According to party sources, minister Surendra Ram, MLA from Gadkha in Saran district, former Lok Sabha candidate Surendra Ram Mahan, city’s chief surgeon Dr Sunil Ranjan, businessman from Thawe, Pramod from Kuchaykot, who works for the party in Patna. Brainstorming is going on at the high command level on six names like Ram. It is too early to say whose name is approved by the high command.

Potential candidates camping in Patna

RJD stalwarts are camping in Patna with potential candidates. Many political pundits are busy lobbying in Patna to get tickets. This seat has become prestigious for the party. It is now considered certain that Congress will have a direct fight with JDU. The election battle is likely to be interesting.

These candidates have won from RJD

When Gopalganj seat was not reserved, in 1996 Lal Babu Prasad Yadav, in 2004 Anirudh Prasad Yadav, alias Sadhu Yadav, went to the Lok Sabha after winning the elections from Rashtriya Janata Dal. After that the mandate did not come in favor of RJD. In this election, RJD is busy searching for winning candidates at all costs. RJD District President Dilip Singh is currently refraining from saying anything in this matter.
