Shock to Congress before elections


MP News: Congress has suffered a major setback before the Lok Sabha elections. On Monday morning, Congress leader and Chhindwara Mayor Vikram Ahake joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh. Ahake in state capital Bhopal, state Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and BJP state unit chief V.D. Joined the party in the presence of Sharma. Congress MLA Kamlesh Shah from Amarwada in Chhindwara district had joined BJP last week. Shah was a close associate of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

Chhindwara is the home district of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath where voting is to be held in the first phase on April 19. Nakul Nath, the only winner of Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, has filed his nomination papers from Chhindwara. His father Kamal Nath has represented this seat nine times in Parliament. BJP has fielded Vivek Bunty Sahu from this seat. Kamal Nath is currently MLA from Chhindwara assembly seat. His wife Alka Nath was elected from Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat in 1996.

Let us tell you that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP dominated all the six constituencies of Madhya Pradesh and won 28 out of 29 parliamentary seats in the state and this time too it will try to repeat its performance. The BJP will also try to capture Chhindwara, the home constituency of former chief minister Kamal Nath, which was the only seat won by the Congress in Madhya Pradesh in the 2019 elections. Issues related to development and employment have been the main issues of BJP and Congress in six regions of the state.

This time the Election Commission has announced to conduct Lok Sabha elections in seven phases.
