Indian singer Kanika Kapoor, healthcare workers and high achievers of Indian origin who have made significant contributions to Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) are among the winners at this year’s Asian Achievers Awards (AAA) in London. Kapoor was honored with a special award for his contribution to music as a musician. Dr Nikki Kanani, Chief Clinical Officer at NHS Bexley, has won the ‘Professional of the Year’ award. Additionally, health care professionals Salman Desai for the North West Ambulance Service, and Dr. Lalita Iyer for her dedication in working with the goal of reducing the number of deaths from the infection during the COVID-19 pandemic were honored. “The Asian Achievers Awards provide us with a wonderful opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of British Asians in Britain,” British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in a message for the annual awards ceremony held on Friday night.
