Recently two filmmakers and producers Ankur Garg, Luv Ranjan met the former Indian cricket captain at his home in Kolkata. This meeting was about making a film on him.
Sources said, “Two directors and producers Ankur Garg and Luv Ranjan met Sourav at his Behala home on Friday. There is a detailed discussion about the film. It is heard that both the directors have recorded various incidents in Sourav Ganguly’s life. The script writing work has been completed. The screenplay has many interesting incidents along with many unknown stories of life. The director wants to not only record the BCCI president but also bring entertainment quotient to the audience in the film based on Sourav’s life. A lot has been recorded from his close ones as well.
Who is playing Sourav’s character in his biopic?
Speculations were rife that several names from Bollywood would be playing the role in the Sourav Ganguly biopic. The most prominent name has been that of Ranbir Kapoor. However, sources suggest that the lead actor is yet to be finalized but several are on the list. Ranbir Kapoor, who is in Kolkata for the promotion of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, said that he has not been offered Sourav biopic yet.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s name was also heard in the casting list, but it was not sealed. According to the production house, Sourav’s biopic is being made on a big budget. It will be a theatrical release only.
