Kolkata. Australia has made it to the final by defeating South Africa by 3 wickets in the second semi-final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where it will face the Indian team. India had secured a place in the final by defeating New Zealand by 70 runs on Wednesday. Australia has made it to the World Cup final for the 8th time. On the other hand, the South African team has once again been out of the knock out match and has missed a place in the finals. In the match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, South Africa, batting first, scored 212 runs after losing all the wickets in 49.4 overs, thanks to a century by David Miller. In response, David Warner and Travis Head gave Australia a blazing start. There was a partnership of 60 runs between the two. Mitchell Marsh was also out early. Smith and Head held the innings but with Head’s wicket falling, Australia lost wickets at regular intervals, leading to a thrilling situation in the match. Australia team won the match by scoring 213 runs for 7 wickets in 46 overs.

South Africa, batting first against Australia, scored 212 runs after losing all wickets in 49.4 overs thanks to a century by David Miller in the second semi-final. In response, Australia made a good start. Opener David Warner was out after scoring 29 runs in 18 balls. Dussen took an excellent catch of Mitchell Marsh. Head was out after scoring 62 runs. Labuschagne scored 18 runs and Maxwell scored one run. Steve Smith was out after scoring 30 runs in 62 balls. Josh English scored 28 runs.

David Miller scored the highest 101 runs for South Africa. There was a 95-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, due to which the African team could reach beyond 200 despite the innings faltering. For Australia, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins took 3-3 wickets, Josh Helgewood and Travis Head took 2-2 wickets. South Africa, who came to bat first, had a very bad start.
