Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex closed at 65,655.15, falling 139.58 points or 0.21 percent. At the same time, Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) also slipped by 37.80 points or 0.19 percent and closed at the level of 19,694.00.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 have seen a decline and 10 have seen a rise. In a volatile trade, Sensex companies Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Motors and JSW Steel were major losers. Stocks in profit include Bharti Airtel, Wipro, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and Maruti.
Apart from this, in other major markets of Asia, South Korea’s Kospi, China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in profit, while Japan’s Nikkei was in loss. Similarly, there was a mixed trend in the major stock markets of Europe.
It is noteworthy that there was a decline in the stock market on Friday, the last trading day of last week. The Sensex closed at 65,794 with a fall of 187 points. At the same time, Nifty also closed at the level of 19,731 with a fall of 33 points.
