Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of PM Mitra Park (PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Park) at Vansi-Borsi in Navsari on 22nd. More than 1 lakh people will participate in this program, due to which the work of leveling the place and removing debris has been started rapidly. Mitra Park, which the industrialists of Surat were eagerly waiting for, will be built on 1141 acres. For this, the state government will contribute 51 percent and the center will contribute 49 percent. The park will be developed in public private partnership mode through a special purpose vehicle owned by the central and state governments.

Each park will have incubation centre, common processing house and common effluent treatment plant and other textile related facilities like design center and testing centre. Textiles worth Rs 25,000 to 30,000 crore will be produced annually in this park. With this, the contribution of Gujarat’s apparel sector will increase from 3 percent to 5 percent. Total textile production is expected to increase from 18 percent to 22 percent and exports of the region are expected to increase from 12 percent to 15 percent.

Mitra Park will create an integrated textile value chain from spinning, weaving, processing-dyeing and printing to apparel manufacturing at one location, under one roof. This integrated textile value chain will reduce the logistics cost of the industry. Gujarat’s only Mitra Park, to be built at Vansiborsi in Navsari, will generate 1 lakh direct and 2 lakh indirect jobs.

What are the plans for PM Mitra Mega Textile Park?

The Union Textiles Ministry has approved seven PM Mitra Parks in seven states including Vansi Borsi in Navsari, Gujarat. 7 Mega Integrated Textile Zones and Apparel Parks will be constructed in each of the 7 states of the country at a cost of Rs 4445 crore. Here, cotton-to-yarn, thread-to-garment manufacturing and sale and export of finished garments will be done from a single location, which will help in realizing the Prime Minister’s 5A vision (Farm to Fiber to Factory to Fashion to Foreign). Will do. These parks will help India achieve the 9 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
