Sussex captain Pujara suspended from a county match – Dainik Savera Times

Hove (England): India international cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has been suspended from a county match after his team Sussex were fined 12 points for a code of conduct breach against Leicestershire in the County Championship. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Pujara was automatically suspended as captain after Sussex reached the limit of four penalties this season.

In this way he will not be able to play in this week’s match against Derbyshire. Sussex have decided to drop three players Jack Carson, Tom Haines and Ari Karvelas from the team due to their poor behaviour. Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace said the behavior of these players had tarnished the team’s 15-run win against Leicestershire last week and deprived the team of Pujara’s services for the next match.

He said, “It was necessary to take strict action against these players.” Indiscipline will not be tolerated in any way. We will have to bear the brunt of this in the form of Cheteshwar’s absence in the next match and due to this we also lost 12 points.
