Many employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have received tax notices from the Income Tax Department over alleged discrepancies in TDS claims. TCS company has asked employees not to pay the amount demanded by the Income Tax Department in one go.
According to the information received from Moneycontrol, sources say that the employees will have to wait for further instructions before paying the demanded amount. Let us tell you that the amount to be paid to the employees ranges from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh.

It said that the assessing officer has the right to amend the notice. The report said that in the mail, the company has said that the tax authorities will re-process the return which will then be coordinated with Form 26AS issued by the TDS department and Form 16A issued by TCS.
