Tennis stars have a chance to earn ATP points

Mumbai To provide top Indian players an opportunity to earn vital ATP points, the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) will host the USD 25,000 Men’s ITF Tennis Championships event, starting here on Monday.
This tournament will be played in MSLTA courts. March will also mark the beginning of a busy season at MSLTA through 2024. The final will be played on 26 November.
Tennis players from 17 countries will be seen in action at the event, which is being organized by MSLTA for the second consecutive year.
Sundar Iyer, honorary secretary of MSLTA and tournament director of the tournament, said on Sunday that the championship will provide an opportunity to Indian players to earn valuable prize money and ATP points.
Apart from Davis Cup players Ramkumar Ramanathan, Digvijay Pratap Singh and Siddharth Rawat, other Indian players in the main draw include Karan Singh, Siddharth Vishwakarma, Dev Javia and Manish Sureshkumar.
The winners of the event will receive 50 ATP points and the runners-up will receive 30 ATP points. Semifinalists will get 18 points while quarterfinalists will get 9 points.
The qualifying rounds will be played on 20 and 21 November and the main draw will be played from 21 November. Amorn Duangpinkin of Thailand has been appointed as the ITF observer for the event.
