the buckingham murders: Hansal Mehta is known as a realistic filmmaker. He has worked with many experienced actors of the industry and has also introduced the industry to experienced actors, but this is the first time that he has associated a superstar of commercial films with one of his films. The Buckingham Murders is that film, superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan is its face. She is also the co-producer of the film. This murder mystery film has Hansal’s stamp, but there are flaws in the screenplay. Yes, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s acting is definitely amazing. Hansal has presented her on screen in a different style, where she is seen expressing the character more through her eyes and body language than words.

The story is a murder mystery

The story of the film is about Jasmeet Bhamra (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who works as a detective sergeant in the UK. In the very first scene of the film, it is established that she has lost her son to a maniac killer. The maniac killer has also been sentenced by the court, but her pain has not subsided. She decides to change the city and takes her transfer to Buckinghamshire, but there she gets a case of missing child named Ishpreet. Her pain increases. She decides to leave the case, but her senior asks her to give utmost importance to duty. Meanwhile, the news of the death of the missing child comes and Jasmeet starts searching for the killer. Will she be able to reach the real killer while battling the pain of losing her son. This is the further story of the film.

Pros and cons of the film

Hansal Mehta is considered a realistic filmmaker. Once again, he has crafted a story close to reality. The film is set in the UK. This gives the film a different look. There is no denying this, but it takes time to connect with this world and the characters. The pace of the film is also slow. This is a murder mystery film and showing every character under suspicion was its most important requirement. The story comes to this issue in the second half. The climax of the film has turned out well. Every character in the film is grey. If someone is bad, then the reason behind why he is so has also been highlighted in the film. The film also shows religious tension, homosexuality, domestic violence and the idea of showing women as inferior to themselves at the workplace, but the film has been able to bring these issues forward only superficially. It has not been able to bring anything concrete. This flaw in the script of the film is also felt that why did it take so much time to match the second DNA, while the detectives always had the family in their sights. Whether Ishpreet’s character sells drugs of her own free will or because of her uncle is also not shown properly in the story. Jasmeet’s personal life has also not been talked about much. She was a single mother. A little more focus could have been given to this in the first half. Along with this, the makers have released the film in Hindi as well as Hinglish. The audience should pay special attention to this aspect before booking the film, otherwise this film will not appeal to Hindi speaking audiences.

Kareena’s work is amazing

This film belongs to Kareena Kapoor Khan and she has lived it brilliantly from the first scene to the last scene of the film. Whether it is the pain of a mother who has lost her son or solving a child’s case as a police officer, she has brought out her inner conflict, anger and wisdom very well. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s look also needs to be praised here. She has been seen without makeup throughout the film. She has not hidden the wrinkles on her face but has also strengthened her character with it. Master chef Ranveer Brar has added a tasty tadka to this film with his acting. Prabhleen Sandhu also needs to be praised. He has brought out different shades very well with his acting. Ash Tandon looks good in the role of a senior officer. The rest of the characters have also done justice to their roles very well. Everyone is seen immersed in their characters.
