Mumbai, There was a surge in domestic markets Sensex and Nifty in early trade on Tuesday. BSE Sensex rose 348.1 points to 84,647.88 in early trade. NSE Nifty stood at 25,907.60 points with a gain of 96.75 points. Among the 30 Sensex-listed companies, shares of Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and Power Grid were the biggest gainers.
Shares of Asian Paints, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Titan suffered losses. In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei 225 was in profit. South Korea’s Kospi and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are closed on Tuesday due to public holiday. China’s Shanghai Composite will remain closed today and throughout this week due to holidays.
US markets closed on a positive note on Monday. International standard Brent crude fell 0.29 percent to $ 71.77 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were sellers on Monday and sold shares worth a net Rs 9,791.93 crore. Whereas domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 6,645.80 crore.
