Visakhapatnam (Uttam Hindu News): Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was reprimanded for the slow over rate against CSK on Sunday. Delhi Capitals undoubtedly registered their first win of the season against Chennai, but the fun of the victory was spoiled due to a mistake by the captain. Due to slow over rate, Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 12 lakh by the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI under the IPL Code of Conduct.

IPL issued a statement saying, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over rate during the IPL 2024 match against CSK in Visakhapatnam.

If we talk about this match, after the explosive half-centuries of David Warner and Pant, fast bowlers Khalil Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar bowled strongly, due to which Delhi defeated CSK by 20 runs. Pant-led Delhi, facing consecutive defeats, tasted its first win of the season, while defending champion CSK suffered its first defeat under new captain Rituraj Gaikwad.
