Comedian Kapil Sharma has been living the celebrity lifestyle for the last few years but it was not easy. He was brought up in Amritsar where he often did odd jobs to earn pocket money. Recently in a chat Kapil Sharma revealed that his first salary was Rs 500 for working at STD/PCO booth.

Kapil Sharma used to work at the phone booth

In a conversation with Curly Tales, Kapil Sharma revealed that he started working at a phone booth when he was very young and used to earn Rs 500 per month. He shared that he was not working full time at that time and would only work for a few hours. He said, “I used to work fewer hours then. From 10 pm to 1 am and again from 4 am to 7 am.

Kapil again talked about another job. Working in a mill where he earned Rs 900 per month at the age of 14. Recalling that time, he said, “I have done many small things. Like I used to work in a textile mill after giving my 10th standard exam. It used to be so hot that even migrant laborers used to run back to their villages.

there was no pressure from home

When asked whether Kapil had to work to earn money for his family? He said, “We were just 14 years old and we thought we would get Rs 900 per month. This was in 1994. There was no pressure from home that you have to work but we would buy our things with the money. A music system , bring a gift for mother, used to feel good. Kapil said that he was “ashamed to ask for money at home” and that is why he started working at an early age.
