Five-time champions Mumbai Indians fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson could not play the entire IPL 2023 season due to injury. While Joffra Archer played a few matches, he also returned abroad due to injury. Mumbai reached the playoffs without these three star bowlers. Boucher said, ‘We did not have two star players in bowling. We tried our best to make up for it. Hope they get fit. If not, we will have to look for alternatives. He said that it was very difficult for Mumbai without Bumrah and Archer. He said, ‘Bumrah was not available. Not even Jofra and both of them are brilliant bowlers. Without such bowlers the attack was bound to be weak. I am not blaming anyone. Injuries keep happening in the game and one has to face it.

Apart from this, talking about the second qualifier match, Gujarat Titans batting first had set a big target of 234 runs in front of Mumbai Indians thanks to Shubman Gill’s century. Chasing this mammoth score, Mumbai could not even play the full 20 overs and were all out for 171 runs, due to which they lost the match by 62 runs.
