Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has many expectations from the last full budget of the second term of the Narendra Modi government. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the financial year 2023-24 on February 1. This budget is very important before the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Demands have been made to Nirmala Sitharaman

In fact, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had a meeting with the state finance ministers in New Delhi in November 2022. During this, the Yogi government had appealed to the Center to fulfill some of its expectations regarding the development of UP. In this, it was suggested to open an AIIMS in western Uttar Pradesh, an IIT in economically backward Bundelkhand and an IIM in Purvanchal.

Demand for funds in the budget for these projects as well

In the meeting, a demand was also made for the establishment of a mega city for a big state like Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, the need for funds was expressed for the second phase of Arjun Sahayak and Middle Ganga Canal Project under irrigation projects. Apart from this, a demand of 40 crore man-days was made to provide employment to maximum number of laborers in rural areas through MNREGA. It was asked to provide special financial assistance for the establishment of IT parks at all divisional headquarters.

Expectations from the budget regarding the organization of Kumbh

Along with this, funds were also demanded for about Rs 3000 crore under the Kendriya Marg river project, police modernization scheme, construction of court rooms and houses in the districts. At the same time, in view of the preparations for the Mahakumbh to be held in Prayagraj in 2025, an appeal was made for the allocation of funds from the central budget.

Focus on UP in election budget

According to political analysts, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget will be an election budget in a way. In this context, they will try their best to give gifts according to the expectations of the states. Among these, the BJP-ruled states are important, because here after the central allocation, the party will try to take political advantage by speeding up various schemes. That’s why UP can get more than its expectations and expectations, because with the gifts given in the budget for here, the Modi government will try to get 80 Lok Sabha seats directly. Giving a big political message through AIIMS, IIT and IIM, an election issue will also be made.
