Addressing a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Bilawal said on Thursday that it was important for his ministry to present Pakistan’s case and its point of view not only to India but also to other SCO participating countries.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the decision to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states held in India earlier this month proved “productive and positive” for his country. Addressing a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Bilawal said on Thursday that it was important for his ministry to present Pakistan’s case and its point of view not only to India but also to other SCO participating countries.

“As far as the Kashmir issue, India-Pakistan bilateral issues and responsibilities related to multilateralism are concerned, my conclusion after the visit to India is that the decision to attend the event was productive and positive,” he said. “We thought that we should present Pakistan’s side and point of view not only to India, but also to other participating countries (of the SCO),” Bilawal told the Senate committee. Bilawal attended the SCO meeting. Traveled to Goa on May 4 to take up the matter, which was the first visit to India by such a senior leader of Pakistan since 2011.

Bilawal said that Pakistan wants to fight terrorism in the interest of the country. He said that Pakistan would host the SCO summit in the year 2026-27. Bilawal expressed hope that the Indian Foreign Minister would attend the conference.
