Navratri Fast Recipe of Dahi Aloo: On the holy occasion of Navratri, Goddess Durga is worshiped for nine days, and fasting during these days has special significance. Navratri Fast Recipe of Dahi Aloo: Essential Ingredients
- 4 medium sized potatoes (boiled and chopped)
- 1 cup curd (whipped)
- 1 teaspoon ghee
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon rock salt (salt used during fasting)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon green coriander (finely chopped)
Navratri Fast Recipe of Dahi Aloo: Method
1. First of all boil the potatoes thoroughly. Cool them, peel them and cut them into small pieces.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds in it. Fry the cumin until it turns light golden. Then add finely chopped green chillies and fry for a few seconds.
3. Now add boiled and chopped potatoes and fry it lightly. There is no need to fry the potatoes much, just cook until they turn light golden.
4. Now add whipped curd into it. Keep in mind that while adding curd, the gas flame should be low, so that the curd does not curdle. Mix curd with potatoes well.
5.Now add rock salt and black pepper powder to it. Mix all the ingredients well and cook for 2-3 minutes, so that the spices and potatoes mix well with the curd.
6. Finally add finely chopped coriander and turn off the gas. Your Vratwala Dahi Aloo is ready.
You can serve vratwale dahi aloo with kuttu ki puri or sama rice. Its taste is very delicious and it keeps the stomach light during the fast.
