In a significant development ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States, a powerful Congressional committee has recommended strengthening NATO Plus by including India.

Today a big news has come out for India. America’s committee has demanded to make India a member of NATO. This recommendation has been made by the China Select Committee of the US House. The recommendation to include India in NATO Plus before Prime Minister Modi’s visit is important in itself. Currently NATO Plus includes Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan and South Korea. But now a recommendation has come to include India as well.

In a significant development ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States, a powerful Congressional committee has recommended strengthening NATO Plus by including India. NATO Plus is currently a security arrangement that brings together NATO and the five alliance countries to promote global defense cooperation. India’s involvement will facilitate seamless intelligence sharing between these countries and India will be able to access the latest military technology in no time.

House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), led by Chairman Mike Gallagher and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamurthy. He comprehensively adopted a policy proposal to enhance Taiwan’s deterrence, including strengthening NATO plus to include India. The Republican Leadership Select Committee is popularly called the China Committee. The committee believes that if China attacks Taiwan, apart from giving a strong response strategically, the Quad will also have to increase its role.
