Yogi government will provide all facilities to para athletes

Lucknow (Uttam Hindu News): Para games will be organized from time to time in Uttar Pradesh and the state government will now provide all kinds of facilities to the disabled players in the state like normal players.

Para Sports Association was recognized in the meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. Navneet Sehgal. Along with this, a decision will be taken soon to include Deaf, Dumb and Blind (hearing impaired, blind and deaf) players as well.

Sehgal said that the state government is committed to encourage para-athletes like others. Work is being done to create a strong para sports eco system in the state. Para sports and para athletes will be included in every scheme of the department.

He said that disabled-friendly infrastructure would be created in state-owned sports facilities including hostels in the state. Separate quota will be fixed for para players in sports centers and academies. Along with setting up high performance centers for para athletes in many sports, special trainers will be recruited for para sports. Along with this, facilities will be developed for blind and deaf sports.

Apart from this, Para Olympic players will also be rewarded like other Olympic players. Sai and officials of sports department were also present on the occasion.
