Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has retweeted a tweet which was tweeted by the official Twitter handle of the Congress. It is written in this tweet that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh started the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores scheme. Under this scheme, patients have saved more than Rs 100 crore so far. Taking advantage of this scheme, more than 50 lakh people bought cheap medicines. When did the scheme start
Talking about the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores scheme, it was started from 20 October 2021 by the Urban Administration and Development Department on the initiative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Under this scheme, work was done to open 194 Shri Dhanwantri Medical Stores in all 169 urban bodies of Chhattisgarh. It has been made mandatory for the government doctors of the state to prescribe generic medicines to the patients coming for treatment in the hospital. 165.59 crore MRP from the scheme so far. A rebate of Rs 106 crore 53 lakh was given by the government to the needy people on the sale of medicines.

Apart from this, under this scheme operated in all the urban bodies of Chhattisgarh, generic medicines of eminent companies are made available to the people at 50 to 70 percent less price. Medicines for cold, cough, fever, blood pressure, insulin along with serious diseases, antibiotics, surgical items are also available at discounted prices in Dhanvantari medicine shops.
