1 lakh people booked Samsung’s new Flip 5 and Fold 5 smartphones in 28 hours

Samsung Galaxy Flip5, Samsung Galaxy Fold5 Pre-Booking: Samsung registered a record one lakh prebookings within 28 hours of its fifth generation ultra-premium foldable devices – Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 being launched in India. The company gave this information on Thursday. Samsung said in a statement that compared to the fourth generation of foldable smartphones (Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4), the fifth generation device received 1.7 times more prebookings in the first 28 hours. The company introduced both the devices on July 26 and their prebooking started on July 27. The sale of the Made in India device in India will start from August 18.

The price of Galaxy Fold 5 is between 1.54 lakh to 1.85 lakh. The price of Samsung Galaxy Flip5 ranges from Rs 99,999 to Rs 1,09,999. South Korea’s leading electronics maker Samsung is hoping to strengthen its leadership position in the smartphone market with its recently launched foldable smartphone models Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. According to a market research firm, Samsung continued to lead the Indian smartphone market with a 20 per cent share in the March quarter of last fiscal.

Market research and analysis firm TechArc estimates that foldable smartphones will account for about 1.8 percent of the total smartphone market in 2023. This means that in the year 2023, more than 6.35 lakh foldable smartphones will be sold in India, which is less than 0.5 percent of the total sales estimated for this period. A Samsung official said, this is the fifth generation of the foldable phone.
In the last five years, we have given many new experiences to our Indian consumers. Both the smartphones are equipped with Snapdragon 8th Gen chipset and IPX8 certification. This means that both these phones are water-resistant and will not get damaged even after being submerged in 1.5 meter deep water for half an hour. Samsung officials said that the Fold 5 phone will be 2.4 mm thinner and 10 grams lighter than the Fold 4. The Samsung S Pen is also 41 percent thinner than the previous generation devices.
