Kuala Lumpur (Uttam Hindu News): Indian shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out of the Malaysia Masters after losing to Indonesia’s Gregoria Tunjung in the semi-finals on Saturday. Tunjung, ranked world number five, defeated world number 13 Sindhu 21-14, 21-17 in a semi-final that lasted 44 minutes. Sindhu had earlier won all her seven matches against Tunjung, but Tunjung, ranked ahead of the Indian player, seemed to be playing past here. The first game saw a tough fight between the two.

Two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu was leading 11-10 at the break but Tunjung went ahead quickly after the break to level the score at 12-12. Sindhu recovered a point from 19-13 down but could not stop Tunjung from winning the first game. In the second game too, Sindhu and her opponent troubled each other equally but Tunjung managed to lead 11-10 at the break. Sindhu could not seal the lead against Tunjung’s flamboyant footwork and ended her journey in Malaysia with a defeat.
