A bus filled with 70 devotees going to Ayodhya from Dumka in Jharkhand burnt to ashes near Varanasi.

A bus (UP 62 AT 7070) carrying 70 pilgrims from different blocks of Dumka district of Jharkhand, which had set out for Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Darshan, caught fire near Baulia Maheshpur in Varanasi district at around 3 am on Friday. All the passengers were sleeping when this incident happened. The driver was also unaware of the fire.

The bus was coming from Ayodhya to Varanasi, then smoke rose from the bus.

The bus was coming from Ayodhya to Varanasi. Then, seeing smoke rising from the moving bus on the way, the UP Police personnel who were out on patrol chased the bus and stopped it. After this, all the devotees were evacuated safely by breaking the window glass. A few minutes after the passengers got out, the bus burst into flames like a ball of fire. This bus included 12 passengers from Bargo village of Jarmundi block.

The accident happened near Baulia Maheshpur of Varanasi.

Among the pilgrims, Devjyoti Mandal, Janaki Devi, Sonika Kumari, Harinarayan Manjhi, Vidyapati Mandal, Vijay Krishna Mandal, Laxmikant Mandal, Runo Devi, Heena Kumari, Suman Kumar, Saurabh, Bhudarchandra Mandal etc. told that their temple is situated near Baulia Maheshpur in Varanasi district. This accident also happened. Due to the promptness of UP Police personnel, all the pilgrims were evacuated safely. In this incident, all the belongings of the pilgrims were burnt to ashes. Mobile phones of 68 pilgrims were also destroyed. Two pilgrims had mobile phones with them which remained safe.

If the bus had not stopped on time, a major accident could have happened.

This bus of Tushar Bus Service had left from Dumka on March 19 carrying all the pilgrims. The passengers of the bus told that they were returning after worshiping in Ayodhya. The bus suddenly caught fire on Friday morning. By the time the bus was stopped, the flames had increased. After this, the soldiers of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police informed the officers and policemen about this.

With the help of fire brigade, police evacuated the devotees safely.

With the help of fire brigade, the police team evacuated all the passengers from the bus safely. The fire brigade controlled the fire, but by then the entire bus was burnt to ashes. Passengers told that our lives were saved but our belongings and money kept in the bus were burnt and ruined. UP officials arranged biscuits, tea and bottled water for all the visitors. Breakfast was served and lunch was also packed and given to all the passengers.

MP Dr Nishikant Dubey took immediate initiative and provided help

At around 5 am on Friday morning, a pilgrim resident of Bargo village informed Devvrat Mandal about the incident. MP representatives Jaiprakash Mandal and Devravrat Mandal contacted MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey and informed him about the incident. After this, MP Dr Nishikant took immediate initiative and asked the Chief Minister of UP and the Commissioner of Banaras to help the passengers.

These officers of Uttar Pradesh reached the spot

After this, UP ADM, SDM, SHO, ARTO and other officials reached the incident site. Financial assistance was provided to the passengers. Everyone also had a medical checkup. After this, after feeding them, they sent them to the destination by another bus. All the passengers are returning to Dumka.

The health of two pilgrims from Jarmundi and Dumka deteriorated.

Pilgrims said that the health of passengers Bhudhar Chandra Mandal of Jarmundi and Nepal Manjhi of Dumka who were traveling in the bus had deteriorated. He had sugar and BP problems. Dr. Pravesh Maurya of Kashi Vidyapeeth Health Center examined him and gave him medicine. A six-member team of doctors treated all the passengers.
