Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Rai said on Wednesday that party leaders will fast at Jantar Mantar on April 7 in protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. During this, he called for a nationwide fast. He said, if you are against the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister, then you can fast on April 7 against the arrest. You can do a mass fast anywhere, at home, in your city.

Gopal Rai accused of destroying AAP

Gopal Rai said in the press conference that the top leadership of the party has been arrested with the aim of destroying the Aam Aadmi Party. He said, Delhi government ministers, AAP MPs, MLAs, councilors and officials will fast at Jantar Mantar on April 7. This will be an open program and student organizations, farmer organizations, traders can come and participate in it.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21.

It is noteworthy that ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal on March 21. The next day, ED presented Kejriwal in the court, where CM Kejriwal was sent to ED custody till March 28. Then the court decided to extend ED’s custody till April 1. Finally, on April 1, the court sent Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15. At present Arvind Kejriwal is in Tihar jail number two.

ED calls Arvind Kejriwal the ‘kingpin’ of liquor scam

In the reply given by ED in Delhi High Court, it described Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as the mastermind and conspirator of the excise scam. ED said, based on whatever material is available with it, Kejriwal is guilty of the crime of money laundering. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said the political party, which was the ‘major beneficiary’ of the proceeds of crime, has committed the crime through Kejriwal. ED said, Chief Minister of National Capital Territory of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal is the mastermind and main conspirator of the Delhi Excise scam in connivance with Delhi government ministers, AAP leaders and other persons. Arvind Kejriwal was directly involved in making the Excise Policy 2021-22.
