U-WIN has been designed to digitize the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and is currently being implemented on a pilot basis in two districts in each State and Union Territory.

U-WIN was launched on January 11 in 65 districts across the country. The U-WIN platform will be used to register and immunize every pregnant woman, register the birth of every new born baby, administer a dose of vaccines at birth, and for all immunization programs thereafter.
ABHA ID for pregnant women and children
Under this facility of the government, health care workers and program managers will be available for vaccine distribution, regular vaccination sessions and vaccination coverage. Vaccination card linked to ABHA ID (Ayushman Bharat Heath Account) will be prepared for pregnant women and children. Not only this, citizens can check the regular vaccination sessions going on near them and can also book appointments.
What do the figures say?
Vaccination records under UIP are still being maintained manually. The biggest issue is that vaccination is not recorded at private health facilities. So far 33,58,770 infants in the age group of 0-1 year and 20,98,338 children in the age group of 1-5 years have been registered. Along with this, 14,20,708 pregnant women have also been registered.
