New Delhi. Apple is internally testing the next iOS 17 update to fix the overheating issue in iPhone 15 Pro phones, which is expected to be available later this week or next week.
According to MacRumors, iOS 17.0.3 will not reduce the performance of the A17 Pro chip.
The same bug fixes may eventually be included in iOS 17.1, which is currently in beta and expected to be released in late October.
It is not clear how many users have been affected by the overheating problem.
Apple has identified some conditions that are causing new iPhones to heat up more than expected, including a bug in the iOS 17 software update and some third-party apps like Instagram.
The company said in a statement earlier this month that the device may heat up during the first few days after setting up or restoring it due to increased background activity.
“We also found a bug in iOS 17 that is affecting some users and will be addressed in a software update,” the iPhone maker said.
The new titanium material on iPhone 15 Pro, with its aluminum substructure and new system design, provides better heat dissipation than any prior stainless steel Pro model.
Apple is currently aware of third-party apps that overload the CPU and cause the iPhone to heat up more than normal, including Asphalt 9, Instagram, and Uber.
Instagram had already released a fix on September 27 (V302) to resolve the issue. (IANS)
