What is doxxing?

According to cyber security firm Kapersky, the term Doxxing appeared around the beginning of the 90s and is a form of online attack carried out by hackers.
Recently, pro-Palestine activists have leaked the personal details of 600 Jewish Australians. After which many politicians and community leaders strongly condemned it. In view of this, the Australian government has thought of taking immediate action as a solution. The proposed law aims to strengthen individual privacy protections by imposing fines and issuing take-down notices on social media platforms that do so.
It is worth noting that not only in Australia, doxxing has already been declared a crime in other countries. Among these, many states in America have made laws to ban doxxing. In which there are different punishments for crimes. Similarly, countries such as the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong have introduced legislation to combat online harassment and protect the privacy rights of individuals.
