Initiative to stop use of money power in Lok Sabha elections is underway in Jharkhand. Under this operation, police have seized Rs 36,56,900 from two districts. Rs 30,91,900 have been recovered from Giridih district, while Rs 5,65,000 have been recovered from Latehar district.

Police seized Rs 30,91,900 in Giridih

The team formed to prevent transportation of illegal cash in Giridih district took major action on Wednesday (April 3). Under this, the FST team seized Rs 30 lakh 91 thousand 900 in cash from different vehicles from Nimiaghat and Dhanwar police station areas.

Rs 5.65 lakh seized from car in Latehar

Here, in connection with the Lok Sabha elections in Latehar district, on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan, an intensive vehicle checking campaign is being conducted in all the police station areas of the district. In the same sequence, vehicle checking campaign was being conducted on Wednesday near Murgidih police camp of Barwadih police station area of ​​the district.

Rs 5.65 lakh found in car in Latehar

During vehicle checking by SI Ashok Singh and Magistrate Kamlesh Kumar Singh, the police recovered Rs 5 lakh 65 thousand in cash while checking the car (JH03AM-1077). The said money has been recovered from Ravindra Kumar Singh, a resident of Aurangabad, Bihar, who was traveling in the car.

The investigation team informed this to police station in-charge Radheshyam Prasad. On receiving the information, station in-charge Radheshyam Singh reached the spot and the money was counted in the presence of the flying squad team. Ravindra Singh, who was traveling in the car on the spot, could not show any document related to this amount.

Vehicle investigation underway due to model code of conduct

Police station in-charge Shri Prasad said that the police team is continuously running a vehicle checking campaign regarding the model code of conduct. He told that the vehicle owner Ravindra Kumar Singh is being interrogated. Ravindra Kumar Singh told that he works as a contractor for Railways and had brought the outstanding money in lieu of the program. After this the police confiscated their money.
