Bhagatiya reached Shivalay while roaming, Singhpur of Bokaro echoed with the cheers of Baba Bholenath and Budha Baba.

Kasmar (Bokaro): The four-day Bhagta Parab (Chadak Puja or Ganjan) started on Friday with Sanjot and Lotan Seva at the famous ancient Shiva temple located at Singhpur in Kasmar block of Bokaro district. In the evening, more than one and a half thousand Bhagatiyas participated in the Lotan service. Under this, after taking bath together in the local Shiv Ganga (Sair Dam), all the Bhagatiyas reached the Shivalaya from the pond while rolling (rolling on the ground). During this time the whole of Singhpur echoed with the cheers of ‘Baba Bholenath’ and ‘Budha Baba’. Before this, formal puja was performed at Sayar Dam under the supervision of Bhukal Ojha, Sidam Bauri, Bhuvaneshwar Mahato, Bhim Singh, Dhiren Mahato etc. During this time all the Bhagatiyas wore sacred thread. After that everyone made a Pind (Bhootpeedha) on the banks of the pond. Worship was done by offering gulanchi flowers, arva rice, chana dal, sugar candy etc. After that the process of Lotan Seva started, which continued till late evening. Many small children also participated in the Lotan service, while many villagers took blessings by putting their small children to sleep among the Bhagatiyas performing Lotan. It is believed that by doing this the child gets a healthy and long life.

A crowd of devotees gathered to see Lotan. Women also participated in large numbers. Kaushalya Devi, wife of local MLA Dr. Lambodar Mahato, was mainly present on the occasion. MLA Dr Mahato said that this festival is an integral part of our native culture. It has many qualities within itself. He wished all the devotees.

After Lotan, the ritual of “Sandadagai” was also completed late in the evening. After Lotan Seva and distribution of Prasad, the tradition of Sandagai was followed. In this, the new devotees, who will be swinging with a nail pierced on their back on the second day of the fast (14th April), are burnt by the priest by heating a bamboo cane in a ghee lamp. Only after this ritual the new devotees become eligible to swing the Bhagata.

Pat tour took place in the villages
Earlier in the day, a tour of the river also took place. Under this, a special wooden statue was toured to nearby villages including Singhpur, Khairachatar, Udayamara, Basaria, Dumarkudar, Bhawanipur. During the tour he was worshiped in every house. After the tour, the Paat was taken to the banks of the local Sayar Dam, where after the Paat Puja, all the devotees were made to wear the sacred thread. Let us tell you that this time the Pat Yatra has been made for five days.

singhpur inter college will open panshala
Singhpur Inter College and Utkarsh ITI have decided to open a panshala to serve the devotees on the occasion of Bhagta Parab. College director Sujit Kumar and Utkarsh ITI in-charge Randev Kumar Murmu said that a huge crowd of devotees gather here on Saturday and Sunday. In view of the scorching heat, the college family will open a panshala on both the days and distribute sherbet, soft drinking water, gram, jaggery etc. among the devotees.

-The distance of the ancient pagoda from Sayar Dam is about 500 meters. It took about two hours for all the Bhagatiyas to reach the Shivalaya after bathing in Pind, Poona and Lotan in Share Dam.
-At the end of the Lotan service, a tableau came out. In this, the worshipers of the Dom family of the village took the form of Aughad and followed him to reach the Ganga gate of the Shivalaya. During this, members of the Dom family also played drums.
-The Bhagatiyas who participated in the Lotan Seva remained on fast throughout the day. After the conclusion of Lotan Seva, fruits were eaten there as Prasad. Especially gram and new fruit (mango) were consumed. This gram and fruit is provided by Ojha family.
-The ancient Shivalaya has been decorated with lights on the occasion of Bhagta Parab.
