What is DigiYatra:
DigiYatram was introduced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The service was initially launched at Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi airports and will be made available at more domestic airports in the coming months. After registering for DigiYatra, passengers can save their travel details in the DigiYatra app for paperless travel. This e-system is linked to Aadhaar. It does fast checking at boarding gates. How to Register on DigiYatra:
- First of all you have to download and open the DigiYatra App.
- Then you have to create your Digiatra ID. In this you will have to provide name, email id, mobile number, identity proof.
- After submitting all the documents, you will be given a DigiYatra ID.
- If you have given Aadhaar details then your verification for DigiYatra will be online as Aadhaar card contains your biometric information. However, if you have not submitted Aadhaar details, you will have to manually verify your ID by contacting CISF at the airport.
How to use DigiYatra at the airport:
After verification, you will have to scan the e-ticket or boarding pass at the entry gate.
The QR code scanner will verify your ID and travel details and DigiYatra ID will perform face recognition and verification. After the process is complete, the e-gate will open and you will be able to enter.
