BN College students took to the streets against the action of electricity department, road jammed

There was a huge uproar on Tuesday over power cut in BN College Hostel, Patna. The students of the hostel came out on the streets since morning after the electricity department took action to cut off electricity to the hostel after the electricity department had accumulated over Rs 8 crore dues.

Ashok Rajpath main road was blocked. As a precautionary measure, the college gate has been closed and a large number of police forces have been deployed there. Here, the demonstration and uproar of the students continued till afternoon. On the other hand, the administration had to divert the traffic to clear the road jam. The police of Pirbahor police station and Gandhi Maidan police station reached the spot and are busy in normalizing the situation.

More than 8 crore bills outstanding

On the other hand, Assistant Executive Engineer of Bankipur Electricity Division, Vimalendu Shekhar said that more than Rs 8 crore bills of BN College were outstanding, which were being asked to be deposited for almost two years. When the Principal of BN College was asked about this, he said that instead of paying the bill, he would cut off the electricity. On the other hand, the college principal says that there is an outstanding of Rs 2 crore on the hostel. It is not possible for the college to pay this much amount.
