A group of women from the gang had entered the crowd of devotees and snatched the gold chains from the elderly women.

Katwa police conducted a special operation and arrested both the members of the said gang from Polba area. At the behest of the accused, theft and snatching chains, about 200 grams of gold jewelery and Rs 89,000/- in cash were recovered from their house. A silver colored SUV was also seized. Police have started legal action against the accused. During police interrogation, the accused admitted that they had been committing such crimes for the last 12 years. He had not been caught before.
