According to the report, the government had investigated 288 Chinese apps about 6 months ago. It was found that these apps are stealing personal data of Indian citizens. After this, the government has banned Chinese apps under section 69 of the IT Act, which were harming the sovereignty and integrity of India.
China used to trap Indians in its debt trap through Chinese apps. Chinese apps were providing cheap loans to Indians. They used to do extortion and harassment in the name of recovery of loan. According to reports, these apps are the brainchild of Chinese citizens, who hired Indians and then gave them the responsibility of running these apps. According to the report, Chinese apps used to lure people in trouble to take loans and then used to charge interest of up to 3,000 per cent annually.
This matter came to light at a time when many people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had committed suicide due to debt recovery. All these deceased had taken loans from betting apps.
