Congress was also evicted from its traditional seats in Bihar, know what happened with Kanhaiya

Patna. This time, Congress could not find a single seat for JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who came second by getting more than 2 lakh 69 thousand votes in the first election of his life. He participated enthusiastically in Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra. Despite this, the chapter of NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar contesting elections from Begusarai has been closed. Congress remains a mute spectator in the matter of seat distribution, while constituent parties RJD and CPI are either distributing tickets to their candidates or announcing their names.

Party could not advocate for Kanhaiya

After student union politics, Kanhaiya started his politics on a larger level through CPI. The party also made him its candidate against BJP veteran Giriraj Singh from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general elections, bypassing big leaders. RJD’s Tanveer Hasan was the candidate from here. Tanveer Hasan stood third with one lakh 98 thousand votes. In this election, CPI has got the Begusarai seat in the Grand Alliance. Sources say that Congress could not strongly advocate Kanhaiya’s claim on the Begusarai seat.

Differences regarding Kanhaiya even within the party

Even within the party, factionalism had started due to the growing stature of Kanhaiya Kumar. Many Congress leaders say on the condition of anonymity that the entire party is in the hands of Lalu Prasad. Congress seats and candidates are also being decided with their consent. Therefore, whatever seats Congress will get in this election, it will be done only with the consent of RJD chief Lalu Prasad. CPI general secretary D Raja, after meeting RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Thursday, announced the candidate for Begusarai seat on Friday. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Begusarai seat was in the news due to Kanhaiya Kumar contesting the elections.

Akhilesh Singh is not aware

State Congress President Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh has no information about the distribution of tickets by the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance. Kanhaiya is not the only Congress leader whose seat has been snatched away by allies. The position of Congress within the Grand Alliance is becoming like “poor”. After Aurangabad, Begusarai has become an example of this. Katihar seat is being considered in the next series which is going to slip from Congress.

Kanhaiya less seen in Bihar after joining Congress

After joining Congress, Kanhaiya Kumar’s presence in Bihar has been less. Among the emerging youth leaders in Bihar, names of RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, LJP’s Chirag Paswan, Congress’s Kanhaiya Kumar and Jan Suraj’s convenor Prashant Kishore are being taken. The party has no answer as to why Congress does not want to use Kanhaiya Kumar in the elections in Bihar. Why is the seat not available for Kanhaiya? Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Tariq Anwar did not say anything openly on this question. But having said that, we are trying to keep the India alliance intact.
