The new motorcycle has already received over 15000 bookings in the last one month. The automaker has started the delivery of this motorcycle in major cities like Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad. The starting price of this bike is Rs. 2.23 lakhs and the on-road price is Rs. 2.67 lakhs ex-showroom. However, soon the delivery will start in other cities of India as well.

The on road price of Triumph Speed 400 in Delhi is between 2.67 Lakh. However, in Mumbai and Pune, its price goes up to Rs. 2.87 lakhs. British two wheeler maker Triumph has started manufacturing the Speed 400 domestically in India in partnership with Bajaj Auto. The Speed 400 motorcycle is one of the cheapest motorcycles in India from the British automaker. Production of this motorcycle Triumph Speed 400 motorcycle is being produced at Chakan plant in Pune, Maharashtra. Its production is going on around 5000 units every month. The waiting period for the Speed 400 has increased to around four months or 16 weeks after bookings and deliveries begin. However, it was for the first 10 weeks or two and a half months. Triumph India increased the booking amount from ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 10,000 at the time of launch. Since, Bajaj Auto is expanding the retail presence of Triumph in the country. Therefore, its demand is expected to increase further. The company earlier had 15 operational dealers across India, which is planned to be taken up to 50 outlets by October. The company plans to increase it to 100 dealers in 80 cities by March 2024.

To meet the growing demand for the Triumph Speed 400, Bajaj Auto is ramping up production of the new motorcycle at its Chakan 2 plant. The plant has an installed production capacity of 5,000 units for Triumph motorcycles, which can be further expanded to meet the demand. The company had already made it clear that production would be increased in a graded manner.
Triumph Speed 400 Engine
The Triumph Speed 400 is powered by a 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned for 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has 43 mm USD forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. The motorcycle gets disc brake at both front and rear. Also, it gets ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which prevents wheel locking during sudden stops. Triumph has entered a segment dominated by Royal Enfield, as well as competing with offerings from BMW, KTM, Honda, Zontes and others.
