Digital India Act: Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (IT) Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that the government will soon start consultations on the Digital India Act. It will create a framework for regulation of emerging technologies.

Citing the ways in which India is conscious of its responsibilities as the largest connected democracy in the world, Minister of State for IT Chandrashekhar said. He cited that India has leveraged digital technologies for inclusion.

We will soon start our consultation on the Digital India Act, where, according to us, the user disadvantages and how emerging technologies will be regulated will be put out for consultation, the minister said on the sidelines of the Economist Impact B20 Forum. It is a great time for everyone to come and participate in it.

Earlier, Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith said in a blog that India, as the current chair of the G-20, is well-positioned to start a global discussion on issues related to artificial intelligence (AI).
