Actually, by removing a loophole in Amazon’s return policy, a student has done a scam of Rs 3.88 lakh. Not only this student, scammers are taking advantage of this loop hole of Amazon for a long time. According to a report, this loop hole was detected by Chirag Gupta, an engineering student. This loophole exists under Amazon’s refund policy.
The report further states that Chirag Gupta, who lives in Madhya Pradesh, bought the iPhone 14 Pro Max and three iPhone 14 Plus between May 15 and May 17. Its payment was done through credit card and UPI. Then Chirag put the return of all the devices. Then Amazon realized that Chirag got the refund but the devices company did not get it back.
The company investigated the matter. Then the company sent a manager Raj Reddy to Chirag’s house. Chirag then told that a friend of his had asked him to do so. On doing this, returned is written next to the product on Amazon’s app. Then refund is also available and the device is also not returned. Later, Chirag had taken some cost.
After the matter came to the fore, a complaint was lodged at the police station. Then on May 26, the person was arrested and all the products ordered were confiscated. After this, a channel was running on Telegram which was being operated by a gang. They also had private information of Amazon. They had so much access that they could show Returned next to the product.
Explain that the police have seized 16 iPhones, a desktop computer, 2 Macbooks, a Vivo smartphone, an Apple Airpods, a gaming laptop and a Panasonic air conditioner worth around Rs 20.38 lakh. Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and Rs 30 lakh in bank balance have also been seized. A loss of about Rs 20 crore is being expected in such a case.
