Adani Group has signed an agreement with Ashok Leyland and Canadian company Ballard Power for this. Under this agreement, trucks running on Hydrogen Fuel will be made. This will be the first time in Asia.
The Adani Group has said that it will deploy hydrogen fueled trucks for transportation and logistics related to the mining sector. The group led by Asia’s richest man Gautam Adani said in a statement that Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) has entered into an agreement to start a pilot project for the development of hydrogen-powered trucks for mining logistics and transportation. This agreement has been made with Ashok Leyland and Ballard Power.
The partnership will see the development of Asia’s first hydrogen-powered mining truck. The project will be led by Adani Enterprises while Canadian company Ballard Power will supply the hydrogen-powered engines. Ashok Leyland, the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles, will provide the platform and technical support for this truck.
Adani Group said that there is a plan to introduce this hydrogen-powered mining truck in India only in the year 2023. Vinay Prakash, Director of AEL and Chief Executive Officer of Adani Natural Resources, said that this ambitious green hydrogen project is a strong determination towards India’s future energy self-reliance.
