Government Engineering College of Palamu will now be fully operational

Ranchi: The way has been cleared for the full operation of Palamu, the first government engineering college in the state after the formation of Jharkhand and the second after BIT Sindri. However, the University College of Engineering and Technology opened by the state government in Hazaribagh is a self-financed engineering college. At the same time, other colleges opened in the state are running in PPP mode.
The state government has issued a notification creating a total of 131 posts for teachers and employees. Presently this college was running under the supervision of BIT Sindri. According to the notification issued by the Higher and Technical Education Department, the appointment of computer operator, attendant and driver will be done under outsource. Their minimum monthly honorarium will not be less than the rate determined on the basis of daily wages updated by the Department of Labour, Planning, Training and Skill Development. Outsourced posts will not be considered sanctioned, rather the maximum number of personnel to be availed of outsourced services will be considered. The state cabinet has also approved it. The posts have been created as per the rules of AICTE.

Director/Principal (01), Professor (06), Associate Professor (15), Assistant Professor (38), Workshop Superintendent (01), Lower Division Clerk (08), Upper Division Clerk (04), Head Clerk (02), Office Superintendent (01), Account Officer (01), Building Supervisor, Diploma in Civil Engineering (01), Dresser cum Compounder (01), Instructor Junior (03), Foreman, Workshop (01), Assistant Workshop Superintendent (01), Lab Assistant (14), Chief Lab Assistant (02), Management Information System, on contract (02), Computer Operator, outsourced (04) and Attendant, Driver etc. outsourced (25).
The details of department wise teacher posts are as follows
Civil (10), Mechanical (11), Electrical & Electronics (10), Computer Science & Engineering (16), Geology (01), Physics (02), Chemistry (02), Mathematics (03), English Humanities (02) And Management MBA (01) Total: 59.
