In fact, the Central Government has reduced the GST on the purchase of electronic items. In such a situation, buying mobile and TV will be 19 percent cheaper than before. Earlier, 31.3 percent GST was levied on buying mobile TV. Which the government has reduced from 12 to 18 percent. The new GST rate has come into effect from 1 July 2023.How much money will be saved

• Earlier, for the 27 inch TV for which Rs 32825 had to be paid, now users will be charged Rs 29,500. But if you buy a TV larger than 27 inches, then you will have to pay only Rs 32,825.
• The same smartphone before July 1, for which Rs 32,825 had to be paid, will now have to pay Rs 28,999 for the same smartphone.

Will be able to buy TV and mobile cheaply

• The Central Government has changed the tax rates on TVs and mobiles up to 27 inches on July 1, 2023, on the sixth anniversary of GST.
• According to the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Finance, the users will have to pay 12 percent tax instead of 31.3 percent on the purchase of mobiles by the government.
• While buying a TV smaller than 27 inches will have to pay 18 percent tax, which was 31.3 percent earlier. But if you want to buy a TV larger than 27 inches, then you will have to pay 31.3 percent tax as before.
• Same 18 percent tax will have to be paid on buying fridge, washing machine, geyser, fans, cooler, LPG stove and other home appliances like mixer, juicer.
• LED will attract 12 percent tax. While the GST rate on vacuum cleaners, UPS has been reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent.
