Rain and hailstorm have caused huge devastation in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Jalpaiguri SP said that four people have died in the cyclone incident, while more than 100 people have died. SP said, there has been rain and hailstorm in many parts. Due to which houses, buildings and crops were damaged.

There has been rain and hailstorm in many parts of Manipur. Due to which houses, buildings and crops have been damaged in Thoubal Sapam Leekai and Khongjom villages.

There has also been rain and hailstorm in many parts of Assam. Due to which there has been huge damage to houses, buildings and crops. Many trees have been uprooted and fallen due to the storm. At present relief and rescue operations are being carried out.

Air service affected after heavy rain and wind in Assam, routes of 6 flights changed

Guwahati Airport Authority said, flight operations were affected due to adverse weather conditions this evening following heavy rain and wind. The contact road was blocked due to falling trees. A large amount of water flooded the roof outlets and flooded the inside of the terminal building. Due to water and wind pressure outside the terminal building, a small part of the roof opened. A total of six flights were diverted towards Agartala and Kolkata due to adverse weather conditions. Operations have now become normal.

Heavy damage due to rain and hailstorm in Punjab also

Heavy rain and hailstorm occurred in many parts of Punjab on Saturday. Due to which the wheat crop has suffered huge losses. It rained with strong winds in many parts of Punjab including Bathinda, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar and Pathankot and hailstorm occurred at some places. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds occurred at a time when the wheat crop is ready for harvesting, with the wheat procurement season starting from April 1 in Punjab and Haryana.
