Honda preparing to compete with Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, going to launch powerful bike

Two Japanese motorcycle makers are ready to compete with each other. It is reported that Honda has started preparing to launch a powerful new four-cylinder 400cc bike to compete with the Japanese bike maker Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R. Honda’s new bike has an inline 4-cylinder 400cc engine, whose sound is said to be very attractive. Kawasaki entered the bike market in the 1990s with the ZX-4R. Now Honda might come up with exciting schemes for the new four-cylinder 400cc bike. The biggest thing is that on the lines of rival bike maker Kawasaki, Honda has also planned to sell its new four-cylinder bike in America and Japan.

By 2022, Honda had the popular CB400 Super Four and Super Bol d’Or models, powered by a 399cc inline-four engine. Now that has been discontinued but that is about to change and it will be seen with the CB650R’s 650cc engine along with Neo sports cafe styling and round headlights. As per speculations doing the rounds on the internet, Honda might also be working on a new in-line 4-cylinder 400cc engine of its own. Also, some of the best render pictures have surfaced on the internet, which gives an indication of how the different variants of the new bike could look like.
New CB400 can come with diamond frame
Honda had the CB400 Super Four and Super Bol d’Or Final Edition (powered by a liquid-cooled, 399cc inline four-cylinder engine) in its Japanese line-up before the Retro model was discontinued by 2022, but the CB400 was replaced by the CB650R by Honda. The 400cc of the 650cc engine could be relaunched. It may also see a number of Neo Sports Cafe styling features from the CB650R like the round headlights. The new Honda CB400 is in the works, so the Super Bol d’Or model can also be expected with a half-fairing. It is expected that the new CB400 may come with a diamond frame.
Honda’s new bike will compete with the Kawasaki ZX-4R
Kawasaki recently created a stir in the segment by relaunching the in-line 4-cylinder 400cc engine segment as the ZX-4R with manic 80PS output at 15,000rpm (with ram-air cooling). Hence, Honda may also introduce a supersport model of the new 400cc engine it is developing (likely to be called the CBR400RR) and give tough competition to Team Green in the segment.
Will be sold in Japan and America
At present, all these news are in the era of speculation. So there is no official information available from the company right now, but if Honda is working on a new 400cc in-line 4-cylinder engine, it would be the best model to attract the target customers of the segment. There is also a possibility that just like Kawasaki did not launch the ZX-4R in India, Honda is also preparing to sell its new superpower bike in Japan and America.
Kawasaki takes the wraps off the ZX-4R
Let us tell you that in February this year, Kawasaki has unveiled its latest baby sportbike, the Kawasaki ZX-4R. The bike is powered by an air-cooled 400 cc inline four-cylinder engine, which is the only bike in its segment to do so. The bike will be launched in three variants, which include the standard ZX-4R, ZX-4R SE and ZX-4RR. The 400 cc inline-four engine of this Kawasaki bike produces a power output of around 79 Bhp and revs at 15,000 rpm. There is peak torque of around 36 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Engine will be faster. However, the peak torque is quite high throughout the rev range.
The bike comes with Kawasaki’s Ram Air technology. It features SFF-BP front forks developed by Showa as well as BFRC-Lite rear shocks by the same manufacturer. The rear part of the bike is equipped with horizontal back-link rear suspension system. It gets 290 mm twin-disc brake setup at the front and 220 mm single-disc brake at the rear.
