Research analyst Shubham Singh said, “Apple continued its leadership of the ultra-premium segment with a share of 59 percent. India is now one of Apple’s top five markets.” Vivo retained its second position and was the only brand among the top five to experience annual growth. OnePlus was the fastest growing brand in India’s smartphone market with 68 percent year-on-year growth in Q2. Shilpi Jain, Senior Research Analyst, said, “There are channels available for OEMs as well as clearing existing inventory through multiple sales and promotions during the quarter.” Brands will come up with interesting offers to entice consumers during this period and 5G will play a big role here.” In Vivo’s case, strong offline presence, growth of sub-brand ‘iQOO’ online, and multiple launches at different price levels have led to this growth.
