Digital Desk, Bangalore. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Microsoft on Thursday announced a collaboration to promote the development of space technology startups in the country.

Space tech startups identified by ISRO through this tie-up will be on-boarded on Microsoft’s platform for Founders Hub, which supports startups at every stage of their journey – from idea to unicorn.

Isro’s collaboration with Microsoft will greatly facilitate space tech startups in analyzing and processing large amounts of satellite data for various applications, using state-of-the-art methods such as AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, ISRO Chairman, S Somnath said. would benefit.

Through the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, space-tech startup founders in India will have free access to the technical tools and resources they need to get their businesses up and running.

This includes Azure, best-in-class developer and technical support with GitHub Enterprise, productivity tools including Visual Studio Enterprise and Microsoft 365, and access to smart analytics with Power BI and Dynamics 365.

Microsoft will also provide consulting support to space tech entrepreneurs in areas ranging from space engineering to cloud technology, product and design, fundraising and sales and marketing.

In addition, the founders will have access to Microsoft Learn for startup-focused training materials and programs to help them build relationships with industry and potential customers, the tech giant said.

Microsoft and ISRO will jointly organize knowledge sharing and thought leadership sessions for startups with experts from the space industry.

The government has opened up the space sector to private players. The country has over 100 active startups in the spacetech sector.
