Digital Public Infrastructure : Minister of State for IT and Electronics Rajeev Chandrasekhar (MeitY Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar) has spoken a lot about Digital Economy and Digital Governance. He said that digital economy with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) has emerged as a powerful opportunity. India has demonstrated that DPI is a force multiplier for a population that wants to progress. Describing the Public Digital Infrastructure (DPI) as an important component for the digital economy, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that India has used DPI as a multiplier for the progress and development of its population.
More than $400 billion transferred
Addressing the Global DPI Conference held in Pune, Chandrashekhar said that the DPI format is the future of digital governance for the world including India. He said, the strength of DPI can be gauged from the fact that in the last five years, the government has transferred funds worth more than $400 billion to its citizens and there has been no leakage in it. In this way India has shown its strength. The kind of partnership that we are proposing around DPI is a true win-win for all the countries around the world who have been left behind in terms of digitisation, he said.
In line with the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
Describing the digital economy as a powerful opportunity, Chandrasekhar said that to take advantage of this big opportunity, it is necessary for any country to have a strong base of DPI. He said that the global DPI conference and the discussions on this issue are in line with India’s concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, in which we work as a family for the betterment of the collective future.
