Reliance Jio Infocomm said that it has launched 5G services in 26GHz millimeter waves across India. The company has also claimed a maximum speed of up to 2Gbps per second (GBPS) in these services. Millimeter wave (mmWave) is a shorter wavelength radio wave that operates almost like a dedicated spectrum pipe for each user and has the potential to deliver wired broadband-like speeds.

Reliance Jio said in the statement, Jio customers are now using 26GHz mmWave based business connectivity in all 22 telecom circles. The company said it has completed its minimum roll-out obligations ahead of schedule in each spectrum band in 22 telecom circles under the terms of spectrum allocation on August 17, 2022.
