Kia Sonet Facelift: Kia Motors, a subsidiary of South Korean carmaker Hyundai, has finally launched the much-awaited Sonet facelift in India. This car model has been launched in the market at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh for the base-spec variant and the price of its top variant goes up to Rs 15.69 lakh ex-showroom. The company has introduced the Kia Sonet facelift in the market with 19 variants, which include 5 options with diesel manual trims.

Look and design of Kia Sonet facelift

Talking about the look and design of Kia Sonet facelift, it is largely similar to the current model. The biggest change is seen in its larger LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRL’s). Apart from this, the front bumper and skid plates have also been redesigned, horizontal mounted LED fog lights have been provided in it. The company has included 16 inch newly designed alloy wheels in it.

Kia Sonet Facelift Exterior

The mid-cycle facelift brings a number of cosmetic changes to the compact SUV, including a completely freshened front fascia. The front of the sub-4-metre SUV has been significantly redesigned, with new L-shaped LED DRLs along with a large crown jewel LED headlight setup. It also gets an all-new front bumper with redesigned skid plates and horizontal fog lamps. Moving to the rear, the updated Sonet features an LED light bar, which connects two C-shaped LED tail lamps. Additionally, it includes a redesigned bumper and a roof-mounted spoiler. The SUV is equipped with new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.

Kia Sonet facelift interior and features

The Kia Sonet facelift gets upgraded interiors, which are borrowed from the Seltos. It has a large 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. It gets the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as before and below it there is a new smaller screen that displays climate control information and some toggle controls. Talking about its features, one of the biggest changes is the introduction of Level 1 ADAS suite. It has features like Front Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA).

Safety features in Kia Sonet facelift

All trims come equipped with six airbags, hill-start assist, a tire pressure monitoring system and ESC for occupant safety. Higher trims come with cornering lamps, four-way powered driver’s seat and a 360-degree camera with blind-view monitor. Additionally, the top-spec Sonet will retain premium features including ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a sunroof and LED ambient lighting.

Kia Sonet Facelift Engine

Kia Sonet facelift comes with three engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which produces 83hp. It is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The second is a 120 HP turbo-petrol engine and the third most powerful is the 1.5-litre diesel engine, which generates 116 HP. The turbo-petrol and diesel engines come with a 6-speed iMT and the diesel variant now also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox, which has been introduced due to customer demand.
