We used the 11th-generation Amazon Kindle 2022 for some time. Compared to the earlier Kindle, there has been a lot of change in it. This time the USB-C port has been added to it. It has also got better display and battery life than before. If you are thinking of getting a new Kindle or are thinking of upgrading, then before that definitely read our review:

How to get started for first time users:

1. Press the power button on the bottom of the Kindle to turn on the device. Press and hold it for 10 seconds or until the LED screen comes on.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions and select your language.
3. You will now have the option of setting up the Kindle on the device or using your phone for a simplified setup.
4. To use Simplified Setup, pair your device with the phone and register your device in a few steps. First, enable “Amazon Device Simple Setup” by going to Settings in the Kindle app on your phone. Turn on the phone’s Bluetooth and turn on Location Services for Android only.
5. Then select the “Set up with your phone” option on your Kindle and use your Amazon account email to register. After that follow the steps that appear on the screen.
6. If you have already purchased books with Amazon account then go to library and download books from cloud to kindle. If you don’t have a book yet, go to the Kindle Store and buy the book.

Amazon Kindle 2022: Design and Display
All those small updates have been made in the latest Amazon e-reader, which will bring big changes in the experience. The weight of Kindle 2022 is 158 grams. In terms of size, it is a very compact, easy to hold device. Its major upgrade is the USB-Type C port found at the bottom. Now you will be able to charge your Kindle with your Android smartphone or your laptop’s wire. This update was awaited for a long time and now on its arrival it can definitely be called a big update of Kindle.

Kindle 2022 has a 6-inch display. Its display is still not the best and attracts dust easily. However, its resolution has been given better. Amazon Kindle 2022 gets 300ppi resolution. Due to this, the text is properly visible even on a small display. There was no problem in reading it in any kind of lighting conditions. While the Paperwhite has 17 LEDs, the Kindle 2022 has a 4 LED system but still works well for the screen size.

There is no option to adjust the color temperature in Kindle 2022. This feature is still available on slightly more expensive Amazon e-readers. If you have a habit of reading Kindle on night mode at night or you get time only at night and you have been using night mode on the smartphone which turns the screen yellow then you will not find it in this. It also does not come with any kind of IP rating. Overall, in terms of display and design, this Kindle is fine for basic reading.

Amazon Kindle 2022: Software
Kindle 2022 works on Amazon’s updated UI which was introduced in 2021. There are two options when setting up the device – Home and Library. Amazon keeps recommending books at home. You can organize the books in the library according to your own preferences. In this, options like recent, title, author and publish date etc. are available. In this, books can be viewed like a grid, list or collection. We found the Grid and List options in Library mode to be the best.

You can make the cover of the book you are reading as a screensaver by toggling on the display option of the book cover. Amazon also offers an option to refresh the screen. It automatically refreshes the screen after about 25 pages. Its UI does not seem that easy to use. To go back to home from any book is to tap the top of the Kindle’s screen. First time users may not even understand how to back up. Its functioning is better on Android or iOS Kindle app where tapping anywhere on the screen takes it to the home screen. At the moment if you tap in the middle of the screen, it will take you to the next page. It would have been better if there was an option to change it or customize it.

With the Kindle 2022, you can connect these to headphones or earphones by going to the Accessibility settings. If you want the device to read the book for you. This option has been named VoiceView Screen Reader. This option will be found in the Accessibility menu. I personally do not like the experience of audiobooks. It depends on your choice.

Amazon Kindle 2022: Performance and Battery
Kindle 2022 is faster than its previous models. Compared to the 2019 Kindle, the 11th-generation Kindle is smooth and responsive. The latest Amazon e-reader offers 16GB of storage. According to Amazon, the Kindle 2022 can last up to 6 weeks on 30 minutes of daily use. In our experience, it lasted for about 2 months on a single charge. It is the best in terms of battery life and no one’s experience can be spoiled with it.

Amazon Kindle 2022: Our Verdict
The 2022 Kindle definitely comes with a major upgrade. With better anti-glare display, longer battery life, USB-C port, compact design, it is a hit at Rs.9999. It’s worth the upgrade if you’re a 10th generation Kindle reader. But if you want a bigger display and more features, then you can consider buying the Kindle Paperwhite.
