Lok Sabha Election 2024: Ranchi-Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ravi Kumar said that the officials should prepare an action plan for peaceful, clean and fair Lok Sabha elections 2024. Maintain full vigilance in maintaining law and order during the election period. Transport arrangements for polling parties and essential services should be maintained at polling stations located at inaccessible places. He said that during elections it is mandatory to have basic arrangements like drinking water, toilets, electricity at all the booths. Arrangements should be made for this. He was reviewing the election preparations with the officials of Police, CRPF, Forest Department and concerned district administration of Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, Ranchi and Simdega districts at Gumla Collectorate Auditorium on Thursday.
Make proper arrangements at sensitive polling stations
As part of the review, the CEO asked to make proper arrangements at the sensitive polling stations in these districts. He said that all the helipads should be identified and repaired so that they can be used for polling parties and emergency services. Also make arrangements for pruning of trees, smoke etc. It has also been asked to assess the deployment of adequate number of CRPF and police force personnel at sensitive booths. In the meeting, law and order was also specially reviewed by Chief Electoral Officer and State Police Nodal Officer AV Homkar. Apart from this, give complete information to the voters well in advance about the polling stations where changes have taken place. Along with this, asked for confiscation of weapons, complete ban on movement of illegal liquor and prohibited intoxicants. For this he was asked to speed up the process of confiscation by running a campaign.
Bundu and fleet inspected
Before this, the Chief Electoral Officer conducted a surprise inspection of the polling stations of the stateized middle school Jaria and Bedo located in Bundu. Took complete information from the BLO there. He also took stock of the list of members of the Block Awareness Group and the availability of basic facilities at the booths. The polling stations which lacked basic facilities were asked to complete them. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh also took stock of the facilities at various polling stations located at Bharno and Jura in Gumla.

During the review, AV Homkar, CRPF IG Rakesh Aggarwal, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh, DIG Southern Chhotanagpur Range, Divisional Commissioner, DIG Jaguar, DIG Jungle Warfare, DIG CRPF and District Election Officers of Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega and Lohardaga were present. Many senior officers related to the Lok Sabha elections including the Superintendent of Police, District Nodal Superintendent of Police, and Commandant of CRPF were present.
